How Does It Work?
Pre-Qualification Process

If you're looking to buy, the best first step is to obtain your own credit report so you can understand how lenders will see you. Your credit score will determine your rate, which determines your monthly payment and how much house you can afford. I also need your credit report before I can send you a pre-qualification letter—and I can't just go by the free score that some apps may show you. You need to order your official credit report here and be sure to include any co-borrowers. Remember, you have a 30-day window to shop for a mortgage before multiple hard credit pulls will negatively impact your score.

The second step in the process is to fill out an application. You can apply here, and the application is free through my portal. You will need to create a username and password, activate your account, and log in to apply. It's a relatively short and straightforward application that should not take long at all. Remember to add any co-borrowers here and they will receive an email to complete their own application.

This step may take a little time just to collect all the documents you will need to support your application. But it's worth taking the time now to be thorough, so that later when an underwriter reviews your file they will have everything they need. Plus, if you can submit additional documents to show bonuses or extra income, you will likely qualify for a larger loan. Simply log back in to your portal account to upload your documents (as PDFs, please).
